Joint Campaign on Ship Pollution Prevention – Bohai Sea, China (2026)

Information Notices

Published: June 19, 2026

The Club wishes to inform Members of a circular issued by Huatai Marine concerning a joint special campaign on ship pollution prevention and control launched by the Maritime Safety Administrations of Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning and Shandong.

The campaign, running for approximately five months, will involve coordinated inspections and enhanced enforcement across key Bohai Sea ports.

Ships trading in the region should ensure full compliance, particularly in relation to pollutant management, fuel quality, emissions, documentation and high-risk operations, to avoid penalties or detention.

Members are advised to review the full circular and seek appropriate advice prior to trading in the region. For updates and further information, Members should liaise with local agents or the Club’s correspondents, who can provide the most up-to-date guidance and advise on any operational changes affecting calls to Bohai Sea ports.
