Fire Prevention Guidance

The UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency has provided some useful guidance notes with information about measures to prevent fires in Engine Rooms and Cargo Pump Rooms.

The guidance will be of interest to shipowners, operators, Masters and crew and includes the previously released IMO circular 1321 of June 2009.

A fire onboard a UK flagged vessel led to an investigation by the MAIB and that investigation recommended the further circulation of this information.
