Drone Surveillance Within Singapore's Port Waters - MPA Singapore

The Club wishes to draw Members’ attention to an Industry Advisory issued by the Singapore Shipping Association concerning the MPA’s use of aerial drone surveillance to support and extend the reach of its patrol craft. Members are encouraged to pass this information to all Masters, who should remind their crews to remain alert to drone activity when operating in Singapore port waters. During surveillance, drones will monitor activities from a safe distance and may address the vessel via loudhailer, identifying themselves as operated by MPA. Masters and crew are expected to comply with all instructions issued by the authorities.
