On 3 May, at least 20 troops from the Saudi-led coalition came ashore in Aden on what military officials called a "reconnaissance" mission. Their nationalities are unknown. The troops landed in a central area between Aden's neighbourhood of al-Mansoura and the airport. It is unclear whether they arrived by boat or helicopter. This marks the first ground landing of troops since the coalition began their air campaign against the Houthi rebels on 26 March.
