We are pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Brewer and Joanne Sharma as joint heads of claims for the Americas syndicate and the appointment of Tom Kavanagh to underwriting director for the Americas syndicate.
Paul joined the Club in 2003. He has many years’ experience of claims in North America and represents the Club on the International Group North American Personal Injury Claims Working Group. He was made a claims director in 2020, and head of the Cruise and Ferry team that same year.
Prior to joining the Club in 2016 Jo was a solicitor at Clyde & Co, a leading shipping law firm, with extensive experience in London arbitration and Court proceedings. During her time at the Club Jo has worked with members across a wide range of P&I and FDD matters. She was made a claims director in February 2023.
Tom joined the Club in 2013, having spent six years in the legal and insurance department at Gearbulk. He initially joined the North American claims team and then in 2016 transferred to the underwriting team handling the Club’s Asian business. In 2018 he joined the Americas underwriting team and he has been working with members across the Americas since then.
