Bandar Abbas - Ballast Water Requirements

Vessels calling at ports in the Bandar Abbas region must not discharge ballast water before the a sample is taken and inspected by the authorities. Discharge of ballast water may only then take place following guidance of the those conducting the inspection.

These requirements have been publicised by the General Office of Ports & Shipping of Hormozgan Province. Although no penalty regime has been specified, it is understood that vessels that fail to comply with the requirements can expect fines and delays.
