Paris and Tokyo MOU - Concentrated Inspection Campaign on Enclosed Space Entry Drills

The Club’s Risk Alert RA47 drew attention to the above Port State Control campaign which ran from 1st September to 30th November 2015.

The Paris MOU has recently issued a press release to announce the results of that campaign, which can be found at the following link. Whilst it is pleasing to note the conclusion that the issue of enclosed space entry is taken seriously by the industry, and that the campaign did not result in an increase in the rate of detentions, nonetheless there is scope for improvement in the performance of enclosed space entry drills following the finding at 7.9% of these were unsatisfactory.
