Following the recent strikes by U.S. forces against targets used by Houthi’s in Yemen, the US Department of Transportation Maritime Administration has issued U.S. Maritime Advisory 2025-001A-Red Sea, Bab el Mandeb Strait, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, Persian Gulf, Somali Basin-Potential Retaliatory Attacks by Houthi Forces.  The Maritime Advisory warns of threatened retaliatory strikes against U.S. assets, including commercial vessels, and that U.S.-flagged, or owned, commercial vessels operating throughout this region are strongly encouraged to maintain close contact with Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) Naval Coordination and Guidance for Shipping (NCAGS). 

U.S. Maritime Advisory 2025-001A goes on to advise reviewing and implementing the measures addressed in U.S. Maritime Advisory 2025-001 well in advance of entering the region.
