The Club wish to bring to the attention of Members that ClassNK has established the ClassNK Academy. The Academy is intended to contribute to the basic knowledge acquisition required for business by people involved in the construction, maintenance and operation of ships.
Based on the knowledge and experience cultivated by the Society, ClassNK Academy offers a variety of courses through group training and e-learning.
In order to reduce maritime accidents, the importance of ship operation management is being reaffirmed. To this end the Society is collaborating with P&I Clubs, which have extensive knowledge of ship safety, to create a partnership with the ClassNK Academy. Their new "Loss Prevention Course" (P&I Club-ClassNK Collaborative Course)" will be held on Thursday, September 22.
The Loss Prevention Course will be an online virtual event with live streaming from the Maritime Association Headquarters Administration Center Japan.
Steamship Mutual will be joining five other Japan-based P&I clubs in presenting at the Loss Prevention Course, with Nahush Paranjpye from our Singapore office making a presentation on Crew Safety. Nahush will be supported by Koji Aragane from our Tokyo office who will be providing a summary and Japanese translation.
