P.R.C. Emission Control Regulation - Pearl and Yangtze River Deltas and Bohai-rim Waters

The Ministry of Transport of the Peoples Republic of China issue new regulations in relation to reducing air pollutants from ships in the following key areas, Pearl River and Yangtze River Deltas and the Bohai-rim Waters. In line with the prevention and control of atmospheric pollution, the Ministry of Transport set the three new emission control areas in which the fuel used by ships should meet the required limit in terms of sulphur content or take alternative measures. This page has been updated, as of 23 August 2016 - Local authorities in Shenzhen have taken a similar decision to adopt the use of low sulphur fuel for ship berthing at Shenzen port. This requirement will take effect from the 1 October 2016.
