Philadelphia – new draft reporting requirements

Our thanks to Correspondents Palmer Biezup and Henderson of Philadelphia for this update. New reporting requirement are in place for arriving vessels at Philadelphia.

Effective immediately vessels scheduled to call at terminals on the Delaware River North of the Ben Franklin Bridge must report their arrival and departure air draft and deep draft to the Pilot’s Association 72 hours before arrival at the pilot station. The attached notice  dated 16 September 2020 issued by the Pilots Association for the Bay and Delaware River confirms that the Bridge will be undergoing maintenance for the next 4 years and the project requires scaffolding hanging beneath the bridge that reduces the available clearance.
