Members are advised that following the 52nd SHADE Conference in December 2024, regional voluntary reporting in the Indian Ocean and Red Sea region has been updated.

A single information reporting framework, including CMF, MSCIO, and UKMTO, will be implemented by 31st March 2025, with plans to include Regional Information Fusion Centres (IFC’s) such as IFC (IOR), RMIFC, IFC-Singapore and RCOC . Standardised reporting formats will be used, with initial reporting to both MSCIO and UKMTO being recommended.

UKMTO remains the primary contact for emergencies, with MSCIO as secondary.

All centres will use the Voluntary Reporting Area (VRA) shown on UKHO Chart Q6099. Incident and report forms are simplified and aligned across all regional reporting centres, with initial reports to either UKMTO or MSCIO, both being recommended, but any constraints based on national and commercial requirements are understood.

These changes are effective immediately, with updates to UKHO Chart Q6099 expected by 31 March 2025. If there are any concerns or questions members are advised to contact

UKMTO at +44 (0)2392 212108 or urgent/out of hours/24/7 +44 (0)2392 222060

MSCIO at +33 (0) 298 220 220 or +33 (0) 298 220 170.
