Spain - PSC Inspections and Guarantees Increase

The number of PSC inspections at Spanish ports has been increasing during 2007 and 2008. Deficiencies found during inspections can lead to immobilisation or detention of vessels. The minimum guarantee amount set by the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine is now 60,000 Euros - double the previous amount.
