Cargo Shortage Claims in Morrocco
Many Members will be familiar with the difficulties posed by shortage claims in Morocco. How and when a cargo shortage is determined and whether or not the Moroccan courts will uphold a trade allowance can be subject to change. Defmar, Club correspondents in Casablanca, have prepared an article outlining how Moroccan courts have dealt with these issues from the early 1990s to the present day. The article, written by Defmar Managing Director Mr Mohamed Laazizi, reports on the changeable nature of how such claims are treated by the courts as well as discussing measures to help avoid or deal with cargo shortages.
