Israel: Hamas War – Update on Shipping - Update 03

The Club has received the following updates from Club correspondent M. Dizengoff & Co. P&I Representative Ltd.

Please bear in mind that the situation in Israel is dynamic and the operational status of ports is subject to change at any time – Members are therefore advised to contact their local agents for the latest advice.

Ashdod

The port is located about 50 km from Gaza border. It is open, but working under emergency regulation. Ashdod area is constantly attacked by rockets -less than Ashkelon -but still quite frequently. It is therefore recommended for vessel to call Haifa ports instead.

Ashkelon

The port is located about 15 km from Gaza border. Port is under constant massive rocket attacks. It is officially open but practically closed and vessels required to arrange their arrival /entrance to the port with the navy.

Eilat

The port is located to the south of Israel. The port is safe and working regularly.

Hadera

The port is located about 100km from Gaza border. The port is safe and working regularly.

Haifa

The port is located about 200km from Gaza border. The port is safe and working regularly.

The Israeli Government has, via its property tax fund initiated a compensation scheme for all vessels on route to or calling Israel that suffer “War Damage” when within the economic waters of the State of Israel – please see attached letter from the Israel Tax Authority Compensation Fund dated 26.10.2023.
