Steamship Mutual has issued a Circular announcing the club has been granted a licence to operate as an insurer from its Singapore branch office.
Jerry Westmore, CEO of the Singapore Branch, commented:

“Following the favourable financial and underwriting results announced after the October board meeting, the Singaporean Authorities have granted a licence for Steamship Mutual to underwrite from Singapore. This is a reflection of the Club’s commitment to vessel owners and operators from the region as well as further afield, improving choice when it comes to their P and I cover, and offering the first rate service for which Steamship is so well known globally. I am looking forward to working with members and brokers, and of course with my colleagues in Singapore, London and Hong Kong, to meet these goals”.

Jerry Westmore is supported by Ms Thuolase Vengadashalapathy, claims executive, and office manager Ms Linda Leong. The Club’s underwriting, claims handling and advisory services are available from this office to Members in the region and beyond. Members can also of course continue to refer to the Club’s London office, as well as those in Hong Kong, Piraeus and Rio de Janeiro, for comprehensive support and advice.

The Club will hold a Board Meeting in Singapore in January 2018.
