With the Heightened Risks to shipping amid Increasing Tension in the Arabian Gulf Region this page is intended to provide Members with updates, details and links to the latest alerts and advisories available from UKMTO, MSCIO, JMIC and other sources of intelligence.

Key Risks:

• Increased likelihood of military escalation affecting commercial shipping.
• Heightened threat to vessels affiliated with Israel or the US.
• Potential for retaliatory strikes on merchant vessels in the region.

Mitigating Actions for consideration include: 

• Engage with Maritime Security Authorities
• Maintain communication with naval co-ordination centres such as UKMTO
• Requesting military escort or assistance where available.
• undertaking thorough affiliation checks before transiting these high-risk areas.
• Closely monitoring regional developments and adjusting routes as appropriate.
• Conduct crew security drills, ensure personnel are briefed on emergency procedures.
