Special Inspection on Bulk Carriers by China MSA
Members attention is drawn to the attached information bulletin issued by CCS, relating to special inspections that will be carried out by China MSA in conjunction with Port State Control and Flag State Control for bulk carriers of more than 10,000 gross tonnage, of 15 years of age, engaged for international voyages. The aim of these inspections is to ensure aged large bulk carriers are complying with international conventions and regulations, reducing risk or marine incidents caused by structural corrosion, damage and metal fatigue.
