Latest development on Emission Control Areas in the Yangtze River Delta, China

Shanghai MSA, together with the Shanghai Municipal Transport Commission, have published the formal Notice on Implementing the Emission Controlling Areas for vessels in Shanghai Port.

The key points of the notice are:

• Vessels at berth in Shanghai Port shall be required to use bunker fuels with sulphur content of not more than 0.5%m/m
• The applicable areas and vessels are detailed.
