Privacy Policy – Steamship Mobile Application

This Privacy Policy governs your use of Steamship Mobile Application (“App”) provided by Steamship P&I Management LLP, the managers of The Steamship Mutual Underwriting Association Limited, and Steamship Insurance Management Services Limited, (collectively “Steamship”).

This Policy should be read in conjunction with the App Terms of Use and Cookie Statement, which govern our relationship with you in relation to the App. By registering your details in the fields requested you are consenting to the processing of your information by Steamship and its agents, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

What information does the App obtain and how is it used?

When you register with us and use the App, you generally provide:

  • your name, email address, and other identification information;
  •  transaction-related information, such as when you download content from the App;
  • information you provide us when you contact us for help or when you use the App.

We may also use the information to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the App?

Yes. We will share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this Privacy Policy.

We may disclose collected information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a legal process;
  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights;
  • protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • with our trusted services providers who work on our behalf and whohave agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this Privacy Policy;

Your Consent

By using the Services, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing,” includes, but is not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information. You agree that we may transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area where necessary to enable us to make the App available to you.

The information that you submit to us through the App is also stored on your device in unencrypted form. You agree that the onus is on you to password protect access to your device to ensure that your information stored on it remains secure. Your communications may route through a number of countries before being delivered - this is the nature of the internet.
